Ngultrum is

the official currency of Bhutan, introduced in 1974, rigidly connected with the Indian rupee at a 1:1 ratio, which is also legal tender in Bhutan. Ngultrum is accepted in the se states of India, which borders with Bhutan but it is not accep table in the rest of India. Ngultrum no direct exchange with other currencies, and all foreign exchange transactions are made through the Indian rupee. Coins in circulation are in denominations of: 5 †, 10 †, 25, 50 czetrum and 1 ngultrum and banknotes in denominations of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 500 ngultrum.
